By Robert Mortem
Aside from demonic possession, is it possible for spirits to appear in actual human form? Yes actually. In fact, the world most have been taught their entire life is not the truth. Apparently we are surrounded by a bunch of Celestial beings, as The Greater Key explicitly notes,
"The Earth [is] inhabited . . . by a great number of Celestial Beings and Spirits." (Ch. XIV)
The spirits can actually change form.
"The spirits do not always appear in the same form. This is because they meld themselves out of the secret matter." (The Grimorium Verum, p. 31)
This text goes on to say that "they need something to lend them a body" and can take the shape and forms that appeal to them. In antiquity, this concept is called metamorphosis (literally "to change form") and was written about by both Apuleius and Ovid. The Verum, for instance says Astaroth appears "most often in human form." The demon Gamigin is said to appear as a horse, but "then into Human shape doth he change himself" as the Ars Goetia mentions. In fact, the Goetia teaches quite a few spirits in human form (e.g. Agares, Sitri, Marbas, Foras, Focalor, Ose, Decarabia, Seer, Dantalion, Andromalius).
Furthermore, much of the Bible was stolen from earlier pagan cultures (e.g. see The Christ Conspiracy by Acharya S). The writings themselves repeatedly draw from Gnostic teachings. Notice what 2 Corinthians 11:14-15 says:
Satan himself is transformed [μετασχηματίζω] into an angel of light. Therefore it is no great thing if his ministers also be transformed as the ministers of righteousness.
Moreover, in the Testament of Job (Apocrypha), Satan disguises himself in human form on three separate occasions (chapters 6, 17, 23). Furthermore, Mark 16:12 says that Jesus "appeared in another form" (μορφή) after his resurrection. Hebrews 13:2 says "some have welcomed angels as guests without knowing it." In other words, angels were among them, and they did not even recognize them. Even wandering stars (planetes, "planets") are identified as men in Jude 1:4, 13. Notice, "sons of God" are identified as "stars" in Job 38:7, yet in Genesis 6:2 they consummate with human women. Are stars appearing in human form on the Earth? (note Decarabia in the Goetia in particular).
For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this age, against spiritual hosts of wickedness in the heavenly places. (Ephesians 6:12; also see Judges 5:20)
The Greek word here for "principalities" is αρχας, and is a Gnostic concept known as Archons. These Archonic spirits have an influence upon the Earth below.
DEMON POSSESSION:
In fact, demonic possession dates back to the ancient Babylonians.
"evil Spirit . . . departest from the body of the man." (The Devils and Evil Spirits of Babylonia, Vol. 1, p. 155-157)
In fact, Volume 2 of this same work documents the ancient cuneiform usage of the spirit "leaving the possessed man at the sorcerer's invocation and entering the body of the pig" (Introduction, XXXIII-XXXIV. Apparently the Gospels are drawing from this concept in Luke 8:26-33. Demons possessing animals? Indeed, and in The Greater Key, even the bath water is to be exorcised, along with the salt (Book II, Ch. V)!
The notion of possession is distinct from metamorphosis however. One enters the distinct body, while the other transmutes into a different form—even the form of animals.
"the spirits, who appeared in all manner of forms, as snakes, bears, and other things." (Native American Myths and Legends, Ojibwa, p. 156)
Then the Great Chief sang a magic song which changes all beings, and all the wicked sorcerers were transformed into sharks. (ibid., Mi'kmaq, p.178)
In fact, in Ovid's Metamorphoses, Daphne is transformed into a tree, as it says "her arms were changed to waving branches" (Book I). In fact, Heinrich Cornelius Agrippa in his Occult Philosophy has an entire chapter entitled "Of the bodies of the Devils." The discussion of spiritual bodies and transmutation is nothing new of course.
