DREAMS & VISIONS

By Robert Mortem

As should be quite apparent, dreaming is part of our very nature and biology; it should not be overlooked. What many fail to realize is, spirits may indeed utilize our dreams and nightmares as a direct avenue of communication. Natives are well aware of this reality, as should be obvious regarding dreamcatchers. Yet, to the unlearned and modernized mind, this may come across as quite bizarre. Such is all part of the deception of the archons upon mankind, as taught by the ancient Gnostics.

"The spirits do not always appear in the same form . . . they need something to lend them a body in order to appear to us" (Grimorium Verum, p. 31)

Indeed, spirits may manifest through the imagery of our memory, appearing as people familiar to us in our dreams. And when it comes to interpreting the visions of our dreams, not only does the positioning of the astrology matter, but the specific hour(s) matters as well.

"Proculo causes one to sleep for twenty-four hours, and gives knowledge of the spheres of sleep" (ibid., p. 51)

Notice the relevance here; the demon causes one to sleep for twenty-four hours is directly related to obtaining the knowledge. As it says, "the spheres of sleep" in reference to the cosmic plane, similar to ṣaḍ-gati ("the six realms"), sleep is viewed as a plane of existence, much like the Devachan in Theosophy.

Moreover, when it comes to experiencing visions in particular (while awake), there are several different contexts worth discussing. For instance, seeing with one's eyelids shut via the mind's eye (Ajna chakra) can be induced by meditations and the inclusion of sindoor (aka kumkum) upon the third eye.

"we must magnetize ourselves and enter into a kind of lucid and waking somnambulism" (Transcendental Magic, p. 121)

Eliphas Levi continues in this book to say "In this same light our dreams come to us" (ibid.), and that "To dream awake is to see in the Astral Light." Spirits will indeed communicate by means of the Astral Light, even in the form of chirmeras. The Grimorium Verum insists that the demon called Segal will show all sorts of marvels and chimeras, both natural and supernatural. In other words, either by the manifestation of omens (seeing patterns of actual animals), or by visions of this nature discussed above.

Sirchade has the power to make you see all kinds of animals of any nature (Grimorium Verum, p. 43)

Seeing animals in this context is a reference to the language of spirits. Keep in mind, primitive alphabets include animalistic depictions (e.g. Egyptian hieroglyphics).

There is also the manner of experiencing a katabasis, which is somewhat of a journey into the underworld (so to speak). Be it astral projection, or the seeing of phantoms, this experience is noted in ancient Greek texts (e.g. The Odyssey), and is intended to reveals knowledge to the individual. Keep it mind, in all cases of witnessing dreams and visions, one must utilize proper spiritual discernment, as opposing entities may cast false vision of delusion upon the practitioner. For those who are enlightened, this practice remains consistent with accuracies in directing one towards the sacred knowledge that has been hidden.
