THEISTIC SATANISM

By Robert Mortem

The world we are living in is not what most claim it to be. As The Greater Key asserts,

"The Earth [is] inhabited . . . by a great number of Celestial Beings and Spirits." (Ch. XIV)

Don't be fooled by what you hear. What we have been taught in the general public is a lie, and the many people around the world (even some of the one's closest to us) are not who they say they are! It turns out we actually live in an existence surrounded by shapeshifters (spirits taking on human form), demon-possessed people (called hylics) and confidential secret societies (cult groups). This may sound odd to the typical deceived person—one who has been programmed since birth—but it nonetheless is the teaching of the Grimoires.

Many individuals today are abysmally confused regarding what Satanism actually is. So many people immediately assume Christian theology upon hearing the term, while others may only be familiar with the more mainstream groups, such as the Church of Satan (Atheistic Satanism). These pseudo-groups are intended to deceive you, to keep the truth hidden. Yet notice, before Anton LaVey or any of the other movements even existed, Artur Waite wrote about theistic Satanism:

The evocation of Lucifer and Astaroth, whatever the pretext, must be the first step towards Satanism; but here we have Satanism undiluted, plus all the mysteries of the impure Venus. (The Book of Ceremonial Magic, p. 220, Rider London 1911, bold added)

This is actual Satanism being taught as early as 1911, and it was totally theistical. In other words, theistic Satanism is pagan Devil Worship, and this is nothing new. This perspective (similar to Gnosticism and Orphism) focuses on the very world we are living in (as mentioned above), but in its actuality—not the foolish trickery that has been taught to us by the world. Ever question your purpose in this existence? Theistic Satanism is the very journey of that profound question. As Richard Cavendish states, this world is more like a whole machine connected in unison (The Black Arts, p. 4-5), and even places Gnosticism in the context of Satanism in his same book (ibid., p. 279) which was published in 1967.

Understand: everything is based on the astrology of the matter; nature is like a massive cosmic wheel. To formulate a pact with Lucifer and walk in the occulted path of sacred enlightenment is exactly what this Satanic spirituality entails. Notice, Lucifer in the above quote from Artur Waite is not a reference to the "fallen angel" (as taught by the Church) but rather, to the pagan God of Venus in a demonolatrous context ("evocations of Lucifer") as it says. Arthur Waite writes this in light of The Grimorium Verum, a Satanic text by which the original sigil of Lucifer is taught. The Grimorium Verum itself identifies Lucifer as both Satan and the Devil (see p. 25, 32, 133, 138), and yet this tradition goes back to the God of ancient Rome. Keep in mind, the word Lucifer is a Latin term meaning light-bearer, and in antiquity, Ovid mentions this deity in The Metamorphoses as early as the first century saying,

Lucifer outshines the stars that emulate the glory of his rays, as greatly as bright Phoebe pales thy light, O lustrous Lucifer!

Thus, before Christianity even existed, Satan was already being spoken of by earlier cultures. Moreover, Waite also wrote of Satanism in 1896 in his book entitled Devil Worship in France. In chapter one he speaks of one of the aspects of devil-worship as "the cultus of Lucifer, star of the morning," and distinguishes between the Christian Satan and this good spirit. He identifies this as Satanism in the last sentence of the chapter.

Furthermore, the koine Greek term σατανας (satanas) arises as an inflectional form of σατραπης (title of a ruler) as well as σατυρος (a Satyr, which is a goat-man God) as can be seen in Liddell & Scott's Greek-English Lexicon. Not only does the Greek Magic Papyri mention Satan in a theurgic Proto-Gnostic spell (see PGM IV 1235-1241), but the inflected Greek term can be seen used by Hesiod as early as the 8th century BCE in the plural. Satan found in the plural? Absolutely, in the Gnostic Ascension of Isaiah it mentions that "the Satans saw Him". Also, the Gospel of Nicodemus (not found in the Bible) reveals two distinct Satans in disagreement with one another. Given these texts were not included in the Christian canon, many have never even heard of them before. The Grimorium Verum likewise depicts Lucifer as a Satyr on page 139 (ibid.) as can be seen via the image provided.

Therefore, Devil Worship is a pantheistic theology, as Eliphas Levi speaks of the Baphomet (the σατυρος) as a "Pantheistic figure" in his book, Transcendental Magic (see Explanation of the Figures) and is referenced as Satan in chapter V (The Blazing Pentagram) of that same work. Thus, on page 59 of his book The Mysteries of the Qabalah, Lucifer and the Baphomet can likewise be seen as one and the same. Even the famous statue of the Babylonian devil Pazuzu is depicted with the same exact "As above so Below" hand positioning as in Levi's drawing (also see The Devils and Evil Spirits of Babylonia for more on pagan devils).

Ammon (also called Amun or Amet) is a Greco-Egyptian horned deity, and at the solar eclipse He was immersed (βάπτισμα) in Khonsu (the Moon God). And thus you have it, Bap-Amet (the immersion of Amet). This is actually the devil! Notice, the word translated devil in Greek is διάβολος, and yet δια is literally both the feminine form of δῖος (meaning divine), as well as the accusative case for the God Zeus (i.e. Διός). The term βολος means to "cover" (as in a net). Therefore, διάβολος is literally a divine one who covers (or protects), and this is applied in a high regard of Zeus! Even the Bible refers to Satan as "the God of this world" (2 Cor 4:4 KJV; cf. Matthew 4:8; John 16:11; Eph 2:2; 2 Thess 2:9; Rev 2:13 "throne"). In fact, Ephesians 2:2 literally says "the ruler of the authority of the air" (τὸν ἄρχοντα τῆς ἐξουσίας τοῦ ἀέρος), and "air" here (ἀέρος) is used in 2 Samuel 22:12 in the Septuagint as "in clouds of air" (εν νεφέλαις αέρος) in the context of heaven (2 Sam 22:10-19). The Hebrew text uses "skies" there (שְׁחָקִים) which is interchangeable with heaven in Psalm 36:5. Thus, Ephesians 2:2 can literally depicts, "the ruler of the authority of the heaven."

It is no surprise that the etymology itself reveals the devil (diabolos) to carry this meaning above. You may also compare the Vedic God Rahu who was seen as a divine Serpent worshipped at the solar eclipse. This God is seen across a multiplicity of different cultures.

In summary, much of "the Bible" as you know it today has been stolen from earlier paganism (see the books: Christ Conspiracy or Did Moses Exist?). Many fools fail to recognize this fact, as the controlled Christian versions held by the multitudes have many clues sprinkled throughout, manifesting this very evidence. Even the Bible itself claims that the Law of God had been changed in Jeremiah 8:8-9. Theistic Devil Worship is a sanctified path of returning to the pure, undefiled theology of the original Gods (as discussed in part above) whom were eventually demonized by the church. Notice, the original Messiah claims to be the bright and Morning Star in Revelation 22:16. This is exactly who Lucifer, the Devil is. We have simply been lied to by the Christians. As for the Church of Satan (pseudo-Satanism), they in fact promote the Christian idea of the devil via a strange philosophy, as can be seen in the Satanic Bible, pages 25 and 55, as Anton connects his idea of Satan to the Christian Church. Rest assured, theistic Satanism has nothing to do with Christianity, and predates it in fact. Atheistic Satanists claiming to be their own "God" contradict their very own Atheism (which contains zero Gods by definition). To the contrary, theistic Satanism promotes being your own God (self-deification) from a consistent worldview.

Additionally, theistic Satanists also worship the divine feminine. As the Infernal Dictionary illustrates, Deumo is an example of a she-devil, a horned goddess associated with demonolatry. It is the same category as Hekate (aka Selene), who is a triple Moon goddess according to the ancient Greek Magic Papyri, and no doubt associated with witchcraft as the PGM illustrates.

"Three-faced Selene; kindly hear my sacred chants . . . fierce dogs are dear to you, wherefore they call you Hekate" (PGM IV, 2785-2815)

The term Selene (σελήνη) literally means Moon in Greek.

Moreover, notice the "Publishers Note" in the Grimorium Verum which says, "The secrets of this science were scorned for centuries" by the people of the land. It continues: "in order to keep the people bound in ignorance." This well fits the Gnostic theology (who also worshipped devils as Gods, e.g. Abraxas). The Gnostic theology of the Archons teaches that evil spirits  are against those who have initiated the divine spark within themselves. Therefore, it is no surprise to see wicked men attempting to keep the people in ignorance.

Furthermore, there are several portions of the Clavicle of Solomon. The Latin term clavicula literally means little key, and can be broken down into the traditions of The Greater Key, The Lesser Key and The Grimorium Verum. Actually, according to comparative theology, "King Solomon" can be seen as a pre-Biblical archetype, an Assyrian King known as Sennacherib. Yet, it is no surprise that these traditions have been perverted, because the Grimoires themselves warn of this very thing.

The Greater Key asserts: "I saw that all the writings and wisdom of this present age were vain and futile, and that no man was perfect." He goes on to instruct that the book was to be placed in a tomb so that it may wont fall into the hands of the wicked. Therefore, the objective of theistic Satanism is to utilize divine discernment by obtaining Apotheosis and resulting to self-deification (acknowledging one's own godhood within).

Many of these texts have been distorted by evil men; it is on the practitioner to utilize the interpretation of omens, divination, astrology, and theurgic means of understanding, so as to discern between the good and the bad fruit. As mentioned in the beginning of this article, many people are simply vessels in the hands of these Spirits. Be aware what manner of spirit you are dealing with therefore!

Some (but not all) foundational texts of Theistic Satanism include: The Grimorium Verum, The Greater Key of Solomon, The Black Pullet, Lemegeton, Infernal Dictionary, The Nag Hammadi, Greek Magic Papyri, Transcendental Magic, and The Three Books of Occult Philosophy.
